Q: Are vegetarians catered for?

posted Jan 22, 2013, 2:31 PM by Richard Forster   [ updated Jan 22, 2013, 2:32 PM ]

Breakfast and lunch are provided. Most mornings will be a cold buffet of
cereal with fresh milk, whole fruit, toast or bread with spreads. At three
locations we will have a cooked breakfast and there will be options for
vegetarians. The urn will be on for tea/coffee as much as possible.

Lunch will be sandwiches or wraps, whole fruit, scroggin, biscuits or cake
and a variety of things that you will be able to select and pack during the
breakfast session. I suggest you bring your favorite lunch box if you want
to avoid too many plastic wrappers.

If you like a hot drink in the middle of the day I suggest you bring a
thermos.

Q: Can I recharge camera batteries at any of the campsites?

A: There will be power at Southport, Mickeys, Dover and Alonnah.  We are trying to see what we can provide at Cygnet (set up some points while we are eating dinner at the Sailing Club??) but the definitely NO POWER sites are the first and last; Cockle Creek and Oyster Cove.

Hi Frank,

Committee thinks this is a great idea, and it will be raised in the newsletter.

Cargo

Hi folks,
I'm doing the RaiD TN13 and I have seen mention of ""cargo"" somewhere.  Now I think that this is a fine idea - it gives some edge to us doing more than just having a pleasant sail up the channel.  Furthermore there seems an opportunity to further the aims of the LBT with regard to the coming age of sail - and even raise some funds.

If we carried coal (or apples or wine or whatever ) and raffled / sold it in Hobart .....?

At it's simplest implementation one would wrap a lump of coal (picked up off the ground at Recherché bay?) in a square of hessian tied with 'natural' string and with a label / screed setting out the aims of the LBT as I saw on the website.  Each boat to carry one (or more) should't be too onerous for a beginning.

I appreciate that it may be too late for this year , and with the fires (I pray they won,t impact the raid) there may be no spare energy to bring this idea off,  but I thought it was worth canvassing.

Very best wishes,

Frank Raisin"
