Expedition to the French Garden

posted Feb 4, 2013, 2:22 AM by Richard Forster
Trip to the French Garden. Shakedown cruise for the crews. Weather a bit inclement showers coming through with a light southwest wind. Arrive at French Garden a hearty lunch and an interesting walk around the remains of the garden created by Bruni D'encateaux and his fellow French scientists. Trip back saw an increase the wind a good test for crews. Safety checks completed by the safety team led by Pete Laidlaw the LBT President and Dave Nash the skipper of the mothership the tall ship Yukon.  Camp Chefs Jamie & Bob cooked up a storm and the crew was stimulated by a thought provoking journey into the historical sustainablity of wooden ships based around the story of the building of the One and All in South Australia delivered by Wooden Boat School founder John Young.
